Tom Bartzis, Leadership Development and Safety Professional
Tom Bartzis was an Executive Director of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment with over 36 years of Canadian, US and international experience in occupational safety, risk management, emergency response, leadership development, coaching, and regulatory compliance. His career spans a wide range of industries—including energy exploration, construction, and plant operations.
Renowned for his practical and strategic approach to hazard mitigation, Tom has led transformative initiatives that significantly reduced incident rates and strengthened operational resilience. His unwavering commitment to cultivating a proactive safety culture has left a lasting impact on the organizations and teams he’s guided.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, along with Graduate Certificates in Values-Based Leadership and Executive Coaching. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) since 2005, he has completed advanced training in health and safety systems, emergency preparedness, and incident investigation.
Throughout his career, Tom has conducted hundreds of site evaluations, audits, and safety verifications—ensuring alignment with both local occupational health and safety regulations and internal organizational standards. He has worked closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement Safety Management Systems (SMS), deliver high-impact training programs, and lead organizations toward sustainable OHS excellence.
His leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, transparency, continuous improvement, and empowering others. Today, Tom remains passionate about mentoring emerging safety professionals and championing innovation in workplace health and safety.
